Koen Vickers was born December 18, 2024, to the parents of Kody and Keelie Vickers. At 16 weeks in utero, Koen was diagnosed with a rare condition called omphalocele. Keelie had to temporarily relocate from Amarillo, TX to Ft. Worth, TX so that she and Koen could be close to the professional medical staff to handle Koen’s condition. Fortunately, Koen was born very healthy otherwise. Kody and Keelie are very thankful but the financial hardships these young parents will face to ensure Koens health is a heavy weight for them to carry. They will have to wait at least 6 months and will have to “paint and wait”, before Koen is big enough to be able to handle having surgery to correct this condition. At that time, they will have to temporarily relocate again from Amarillo to Ft.Worth.
