Sol’s Story

O Warrior Stories

Written by: Azalea Lozano

Our daughter Sol was born on December 22, 2023 at 37 weeks. She was born with a ruptured omphalocele and also had to undergo a thracheostomy due to one of her lungs being smaller than the other. Her omphalocele was categorized as large and contained her liver, intestines, and spleen. This led to us spending 6 months in the NICU, which was a very challenging and overwhelming experience. We were faced with many new and unfamiliar situations, but we persevered by asking questions and learning as much as we could. Our little miracle baby was able to come home on June 27th, 2024. We are so grateful for having a strong and resilient baby, and we will continue to support and advocate for her every step of the way.
