Josiah’s Story
O Warrior Stories
Written by: Jeremiah Golley
When Josiah's mother learned of his birth defect during an early ultrasound, doctors offered advice for her pregnancy, leading to treatments at Atlantic Care hospital and South Jersey Family Medical center. As complications increased, she was transferred to the Children's hospital of Philadelphia. Where weekly checkups and treatment became necessary. The original due date was December 22, 2025, but rising concerns prompted doctors to move the surgery up to December 3rd.
Unexpectedly, on November 30th, after experiencing symptoms, she went to the emergency room at Atlanticcare and underwent emergency surgery due to the urgency of her condition. Josiah was born with an omphalocele and was immediately transferred to the Children's Hospital for care. After Josiah Mom's discharged, she joined him there as he recovered. With exceptional support from medical staff, Josiah underwent successful surgery, for which his family is extremely grateful.
Here are some pictures before and after his surgery.
